Good for you, Rae Mond.
That's some information I didn't know about.
Perhaps it'll make someone realise you know what you're talking about.

I am most put out by these ridiculous satellite companies. Last night I sat down to watch Eastenders (sad, I know but it is one of the very few English programmes we get) and they repeated the same one as the previous night. Why do these companies keep repeating ad infinitum the same old things when there is so much out there. They must make a killing moneywise from subscribers.
I never want to see another series of Only Fools and Horses or black adder, they used to favourites but have now been done to death, such a shame.Too much of a good thing……..

Oh what can I say? After having had very little rain for what seemed like months, today, when I want to be out and about with Laurie and Megan, down to the beach etc, there is howling gale and pouring rain. My garden is battered to bits, garden chairs down and generally a mess. The chicks and their mum are sheltering in the brambles while the other hens are in the wee shed. The only surviving duck nest is now very exposed with the nettles surrounding it, having been blown down.
We are going out for lunch to a lovely marina about ten miles away. The scenery is beautiful, but today there will be very little chance of seeing any of it. I am very lucky the girls are so contented, because the forecast for the rest of the week is awful. Oh the sun just peeked out from behind a cloud. I hold no hope that it will last!!!!
I'm sure we will all get rain at some point this week and yes it will be welcome, but why this week in the west of Scotland?

Thanks Kate, but no sign of it doing so. The wind has not abated and my poor garden is looking very bedraggled, in particular my lovely wigwam of runner beans. I hope they survive the night.
We had a lovely lunch out though and Laura and the girls managed a walk to the beach between showers. It is fantastic to have the house full of all their stuff and their voices and laughter.

Good for you, Danuta. It must be so pleasurable to have them around, despite the atrocious weather. I do envy you. Bummer about your garden, though. It;s amazing that there is such a difference in the weather – we would adore one night of a downpour, but no high winds please!

It was some weather last night, wasn't it Danast!? I had to pick up loads of pots in the garden this morning, and the neighbour's kids' toys blew and rattle around all night, keeping me awake.
Much calmer now, but the garden's looking bedraggled.

Oh Danuta, that was a nasty thing for the weather to do to you, I hope your beans are OK? Shereen, is your weather still bad? We have high winds here at the moment with spits and spots of rain, I hope my Tomatoes haven't blown over…

Hubby is doing his annual stint at The International Air Tattoo, perhaps you may remember the rain was soooo bad last year that the event was cancelled. It is the biggest aircraft event in the world, so it was a very difficult decision to cancel.
He rang me this morning and said that they have been advised of a severe weather warning today – apparently wind and 'a wall of water', and to button down the hatches. There is a huge number of marquees/gazebos/tents. Hope it's all okay.

Well it has calmed down here now and probably with Shereen too. Rain still though.
No duck eggs left at all, so that is that for this year. I really thought the girls would have seen ducklings. She was so close, but very exposed after yesterday's gales.
I think my beans should be all right. They just look very bedraggled. Everything else seems OK.
Poor Laura has come down with the bug that one of the girls had the other day. We should have been visiting friends, but instead she is tucked up in bed and the girls and I are going to make muffins. This holiday is not quite going as planned.

BS, is that the one at Fairford? I hope it's not cancelled since it is such a great attraction. I've spent many a happy hour there.
Danuta, what can I say, it's just one darn thing after another for you at the moment! I hope things improve soon.
We are having very heavy showers now, coupled with the high winds it doesn't look good out there.

BIG gusts of wind today and lashing rain 'showers'. Just as well the wind is strong, there is a problem down my Mother's road in the tempremental pumping station that deals with all the local drains and a big tanker lorry is pumping stuff out…mmmmm…lovely. Mother and I running around the front garden holding our noses, quite entertaining when you are a few houses away, but I wouldn't want to be living right next to it, driving past was bad enough! Being silly cheered us up though after spending three hours at the hospital waiting for a 9.30 appointment for an eye check-up ( all fine and dandy) that lasted five minutes. Before you ask, no, we didn't get there at 6.30, we got there at 9.15.
Hope your weather and everyone's health improving Danuta- any chance of a muffin, one would be lovely with my tea!

Not just North Bucks dealing with the wind and rain then? Do you mean that your Mother was seen at 12.30? That sucks but I'm glad that everything is fine. Perhaps it was mitigated, though, by being silly. I do hope so.
