Yes, finally seen at 12.30. Almost every appointment we have had for her eyes has been chaotic for one reason or another. Today didn't beat the record wait of four hours we had due to a nurse seating us ( and all the other patients) around a corner and then telling the Consultant we weren't at the clinic ( good eh?) also, today they managed NOT to lose her notes.
The treatment has worked for her and she has her sight back, which is wonderful, will now just need the regular 5 minute check-ups…for which I will always buy a 3 hour parking ticket- I don't want a fine like the chap who parked next to me got today.
Still very blustery here in South Bucks- though the rain seems to have gone. Andrew has decided it is Winter again and is snuggled up in a tight ball in his basket with a fleece blanket-not spoilt at all.

The wind's gone now, but we're still getting severe weather warnings for rain and flooding. Lucky we live on top of a hill :)

BS, is that the one at Fairford? I hope it's not cancelled since it is such a great attraction. I've spent many a happy hour there.
Danuta, what can I say, it's just one darn thing after another for you at the moment! I hope things improve soon.
We are having very heavy showers now, coupled with the high winds it doesn't look good out there.
Yes, TA, it is Fairford, in Gloucestershire. Everyone who goes there has a great day – and children under 16 go free, which means that the family entertainment is great for them too.
Danuta, hope it works out for you, but at least you are spending time with granddaughters – very precious.
We have had the very high winds, too, but I managed to get one set of bedlinen washed and dried – and smelling nice …..

BS if I had hung washing out yesterday, it would be far far away by now. The wind was just so strong.
Laura is feeling much better and we are planning a nice shopping trip to town tomorrow. Thanks for all your good wishes everyone.

Danuta, the wind is howling around the house as I write- we've gone from Summer to Winter. I too fear for my beans-they weren't good to start with, but after this wind, they may be finished!

Oh I do hope not Kate. Mine don't look too good but they are not broken and I think they should perk up again, so I hope yours do too.

it's been all bluster and percipitation in Sunny south wales also for the last two days. The gazebo we put up last weekend for shelter when we decided to have a garden party (foolish idea that turned out to be!) had been left up through laziness and nearly forced its way into the living room via the picture window last night. Fortunately it didn't succeed.
The plants don't seem to bowed yet, though if it continues I too may start to fear for the safety or my beans and tomatoes, and I'm not sure that the chillies will take to this cold snap at all
Fingers crossed it wont last long though.

I haven't checked the garden this morning, but I heard something blowing around yesterday evening. We've have a bit over 2 inches of rain in 2 days (P has a rain gauge, a proper Met office OCD type one). I know we needed some rain, but that was ridiculous!
I have 2 dehumidifiers, usually one upstairs and one down. Both are in the living room, and each is filling up in 12 hours or less, so I am getting 8 litres (US over 2 gallons) of water every 24 hours.

Some of the tops of my beans are looking a bit sorry. Tomatoes coping, but one Dahlia is rather shorter than it was yesterday!
Still quite unpredictable out there, VERY envious of your Met Office Rain Gauge Devongarden, wow! Wonder if they do one to match my peg bag?

now look here you lot will you stop pinching all the rain and leave some for us here in Latvia. Still hovering around the 30/31C mark during the day and we didn't get a thunderstorm last night and not sure if we will tonight or not and we really could do with the rain.
(P.S only joking about telling everyone off just in case you think I am serious , but serious about the need for some rain, just not quite in the quantity we had the last time in one day perhaps)

Not a Met Office peg bag, but it does match my kitchen curtains…well I had some fabric left over…and you know how I like things to match…..but a peg bag with weather signs on it would be rather fun….

Dear Peg (royal blue) who met Office Bag, proably in the elevator –
Please take your high winds ( ) elsewhere, but feel free to drop some rain on parched East Anglia.
Yours,
A concerned semi-alcoholic!
