Send them a bunch of flowers and tell them you are so sorry they won't be able to make it and can really understand that they need to be around those they love and so they should. Take them something nice back after your hols. – Well I think that's what I would do.

not so much a rant as an apres rant decision ,
looks like me and Mrs mos (or should that be Mrs mos and me or Mrs mos and i )anyway me an err are going to do the revised plan alone and just chill out in Argeles for a bit .thank you for your words of support and advice ,and thank you for the offers of alternatives (especially like the sound of ep's cabin in the sky ,hope it has a roof for next year )Norfolkline ferries have been great and said we could leave it till the very last minute to change the booking without penalty so we can go in our car (that's another story ,this little Suzuki has been thrashed down to the med so many times we only have to whistle and it books its own ticket )and we promised it it could retire from the trans France runs ,but its just about to do it again .so i am packing my bucket and spade and my speedos and whooshing away to the sun . we will probably sample tooo much wine drink toooo much sangria eat tooo much lovely food spend far tooo much money on sexy shoes for err indoors ,buy lots of useless pressies for too many people ,and generally relax in the sun (well until we get restless and go off and explore)so that should last a day or so then .thanks again lovely people sorry to inflict our tales of woe on you TTFN MOS
