Love it – you guys make me smile
My rant is that: Some days don't you feel just bloody invisible? You want to say hey, I'm stood here! or watch it, I'm about to manouvere my trolley here (this be in t'supermarket).
Honestly, I may only be 5'1" but it's no excuse for folk to just rail road me. I'M HERE!!!!!!

Happened to me too, today, Sarah-J.
I was delivering a letter to the school office.
The woman looked up at me (obviously saw me) and I attempted to hand her the envelope.
She had a phone to her ear, and said to the phone – "I'll just put you through", and turned in her swivel chair. "Julia!"; "Julia!"; "Julia!" – all the other women in the office were ignoring her, so I don't know who she was calling ……
She turned back to the phone and said:
"I'll try to put you through to someone else then"
At this point, and with hubby waiting outside, I was getting a bit cross – I only wanted to hand her an envelope. Then another receptionist looked around, and I gestured to her that I wanted to give an envelope to someone. She got up and took it without a word.
An acknowledgement would have been sufficient. But no. Nothing.

I started this on "Accomplishment for the day", but it really has turned into a "Rant and Rave" so here goes….
I need to back way up to last year, (yeah, this is quite a story!), when my Mom (72) fell and broke her leg, the very top, the ball, and had to go in to have it replaced. This was August '09. A nice long year of therapy, Doctor visits, walkers, canes, and lift chairs.
So, flash forward to July '10. I am driving to my project in Stockton, CA and I get a phone call from Dan. "Okay don't panic, she's all right".
She had fallen and broke the other one.
The entire time I am working on the project, I am treated to calls from my siblings venting over the situation, but, "Don't come home, we have it under control!".
While she was in the hospital, she had a episode of rapid heartbeat, and it concerned the Docs enough to keep her for a few extra days. She has had a couple of episodes since then, and no one has been able to give us a good answer as to why. The prevailing theory is her Thyroid, which makes sense, because she is hypothyroid, as am I.
Around and around we go, beta blockers, calcium channel blockers, warfarin, why are you on that you should be on this, who put you on that, you shouldn't take that….it makes you think that the Doc that gave her the anti-depresant may have been right!
And then today? A stress test to check Mom's heart rate that was supposed to be chemically indused? Oh no, you have to walk on a tread mill, didn't they tell you that?
You want to put a woman about 8 weeks past her second hip surgery on a tread mill for a stress test?

She's in her chair now, iced up and napping. I told her she's done for the day. I wish I was….

Oh Michelle, all I can do is send you a .
I can sympathise though, dealings with doctors often has me wondering whether they ever step back and see the whole person, not just their own little speciality bit. I had a good go at an assemblage of doctors scratching their heads over my husband some years back.
Make sure you take some time to settle yourself down and look after your own self.
