Apparentlythere is a tax break thing available at the discretion of the company, so we shall have to see what Phillips say. Otherwise what seemed like a good salary becomes not quite enough for us to live on if I can't get a job sharpish.
Also just heard from my mortgage provider that I can't let my house under the current terms of my loan, so looks like I have to remortgage. which will be super fun I hate paperwork, especially anything pertaining to money. However there is a lovelyman called Robin at a place called Moneycare in Shepton Mallet who aranged mmortgge forme in the first place, so hopefully he will sort it all out for me.
And I'm off to the passport office soon. I hope they don't think I'm a dangerous dissident or anything

That's rubbish Rae, when I went to sort out about our house the mortgage company were fine about it. So which mortgage company are you with?

Birmingham Midshires. they were fine with my mum as well when she decided to let her housein Keynsham. But I had some arrears issues last year,so they say no dice. Also the guy at Moneycare reckons they are disinclined to helpme because I self certified myself when i applied for the mortgage (in 2007, before the world went tits up financially), so now they'd be perfectly happy to see me go elsewhere because self certified mortgages are more risky.
But it also turns out that having an immediate familymember live in your house doesn't count as letting it,so we should be alright
Got all the passport gubbins done, so should a shiny new little red booklet within 7 days, then it's hopefully off to hunt for houses. Once we've been paid of course.
Sam still hasn't has any paperwork through from Phillips about the offeror what relocation stuff he can claim for. And he has yet to put in a claim for expenses for his interview. This is proving quite an expensive process so far, but I hold on to the thought that we should get most of it back.

Rae- yes, there is a special tax concession for employees that you HAVE to get from outside the Netherlands because of their specialist skills- given your chap's specialist skills,he should fit the bill for that. The concession doesn't last for ever, but is well worth having, but the company has to apply for it for him.
Make sure you ask them about health insurance- you will need to have it, the company should have a scheme you join.

when I was about 15 I was in a largely theoretical heavy metal band (laregely theoretical because the members were spread all over the country and we never once actually got together to practice) called polly in the mosh, and we decide we would record a heavy metal cover of I saw a mouse.
the b side was going to be twinkle twinkle little star.
It's a shame it never happpened really, I still think it would have sounded awesome.

Well, kitten got chipped and jabbed for rabies today, he took it surprisingly well, made some very plaintive noises in the box, and on the way home he tried to wee on me, but as the bottom of the box doesn't have holes he succeeded only in giving himself a wet bum, and most of it was absorbed by one of my t-shirts that we'd put in there to try and make it more comfy for him.
We have to take him back in three weeks for blood tests and a few more jabs for various viruses. All in all it came to £212! and then there was some superstrength anti flea and worm stuff that was £40, and some treats and a new collar and toothbrush and paste….
But he is worth it, because he is my baby.
Hopefully Sam will get the paperworkthough from Phillips tomorrow, and saturday we'll have to do some more work on the bathroom, the new shelves need painting and the walls could dowith tidying up. Sunday we have an all day VHF radio course, because although you don't need a license to drive a 60 foot motorboat, you do need one to use a radio
Busy busy busy!

All looks really exciting Rae, Jessie (or dog) has her pet passport and rabies vaccinations, and we keep meaning to go on a walking hol with her in europe, but somehow the cruises always win over – not sure why that is??
