My husband is home with me today~

We're thinking of and planning the spring cleaning in the house. I did start last week, cleaning and organising a few kitchen shelves...the windows need a good washing and the curtains washed and pressed. I have a huge quilt that doesn't fit in the washer and is a pain to wash in the tub and wring, but needs done. The dust and cobwebs don't have too much longer to make themselves at home here~ laugh

Mine will start next Monday as OH is doing a trip to the UK so I will have the house to myself. It will be radical though as I am planning to remove the rest of the kitchen cupboards from the lounge!

We always knew it would take a long time as we didn't want to tied to deadlines. We have taken photos along the journey and when we get down about how long it is all taking we look back. We started with a run down farm property with an acre of overgrown land. We now have a garden of sorts with a proper veg patch. The house was all on the ground floor with a downstairs bathroom extension and 3 bedrooms. The kitchen, lounge and dining room were all one room. Now we have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms upstairs where there was a hay loft and a lovely big kitchen diner. The bathroom has been cleared and is now a storage room but will be a study one day. Although nothing is finished most of the structural stuff is now done. It has been well worth it as we will have a beautiful French farmhouse built of granite surrounded by fields and woods with no neighbors we can see! With my chickens and ducks roaming the garden it is wonderful. You will hear me complain sometimes as now and then it all gets to me!
