While hunting in my Sock Draw, for a matching pair, I felt compelled to sit half clothed, not a pretty sight! and compose this apology for a Poem!

O, where have you gone to my lovelies,

when Feet are so cold and so bare,

I can see one or two,

but they're fairly new,

my old friend's are no longer there!

Today, as you walk past my Garden,

admiring the Flowers, be alert!

what you thought was a new type

of Pansy, could well be my Sock

in the dirt!.laughwave

When leaving the car I found

A lonely sock on the ground

The other one I happen to know

Is where socks ought to go

No idea how it got there, possibly from when I unpacked the car after our latest trip.

This so reminds me so of our old Staffie who always carried socks about in her mouth and inevitably dropped them in flowerbeds- we had a huge bag of unmatched socks and never seemed to find the others.  Fortunately the current SBT doesn't carry on with this habit so the bag isn't getting any fuller (but isn't getting emptier either)

I wonder what a staffie is? I have no idea what this conversation is about...

I'll try that again!

I think there is a time warp in our washing machine- I always end up with odd socks and I am sure somewhere in a parallel universe there is a world littered with the other halves of all my socks.

Are we having fun yet? I am!

Yeah we get that too. We put all the odd socks in a separate drawer and hope their other half show up soon. Some socks have been there for months with no sign of a match!

wave One of life's little mysteries!!!  I used to keep odd socks too when the boys were small and their partners  often never turned up!!

Me too- the odd ones are either longer or shorter socks, although there are a few blue ones in there as well (OH bought them)

I have decided life is too short to spend time matching up socks, so they all get chucked into a basket and anyone is welcome to look through to find their own, mine are all brightly coloured and so easy to match, Dave will quite happily just wear whichever socks he gets his hands on first, irrespective of the colour, so that just leaves Mike to sort his out.

Now have the answer to the missing Sock problem.  My friend says that her Grandaughter always puts odd Socks on to go to School, latest fashion, wonder which clever Mum thought of that!laugh
