Shopping done

The Coop had some nice reductions so my seasonal shop was £17 including 2 joints of meat and 4 cans of beer, freezer full. Its the cheapest one yet....Happy days.

Well done on your bargains.  We don't have a Co-op anymore, it closed and nothing has replaced it.

There must have been some idiot on the unpacking of the mince-pies!

I'll try that again!

We have three Coop stores here all within 5 miles, they have the monopoly and so command the higher price although give them credit, they do support local producers, the goods are quality and we do get the share out now and again.

Venture past 10 miles and its TESCO and M&S. Break out the passport for 20 miles and it's ASDA SAINSBURYS MORRISONS ALDI and LIDL but there's no savings due to fuel cost and of course the mass of shoppers with trolley rage.

Thinking about it, my guess is the idiot packing the mince pies was a local who knew exactly what he/she was doing. We all get the chance of reduced price pies lol

Time to de-clutter the cupboards.
The bread maker never gets used, theres a runner bean slicer, an egg slicer,  electric egg boiler, electric wok, mother's old tefal electric carving knife circa 1975,  garlic press, hand crank mincer and a battery mini food processor that came free with something or other.
The Kenwood food processor  SWMBO wanted was used twice 10 years ago as was the electric sewing machine.
The orange vax machine hidden away alongside the Morphy Richards steam cleaner, a VHS player and an old printer, a birds nest of cables for various things and a tent are residing in the other cupboard.
Well..I can steam clean the kitchen if I get bored, but the other things just might come in handy......better hold on to them.................hmm whats in the loft I wonder?

I have an electric steamer, liquidiser and halogen oven that don't get used....my problem is very limited worktop space, so unless gadgets are in constant use, there's no room to keep them out and they have to be stored in cupboards or in the utility room.  Out of sight, out of mind.  I'm sure there are other things too.  As for kitchen utensils, bakeware, crockery, pans etc....I was only saying to husband the other day that sorting out the kitchen cupboards is on my To Do list for the near future.

Pity we're so far apart....we could have a cottage smallholder boot sale and have one hellova party on the proceeds....but then we'd probably end up buying each others stuff 🙂

That is why I avoid boot sales. Too much temptation for stuff I really do not need but think I do!

Maybe we could have a swop thread!

I had my health review last week,
They know how to scare you don't they?  and some people have no sense of humor!
"Have I a drink problem" the young lady asked?
"No.. I drink , I fall over.. I get up again...no problem", not even a titter so I thought I'd better get serious.

Joking aside I said, I'm falling over more frequently as for no reason my leg gives way.
I've been suffering constant headaches for months, memory loss and difficulty maintaining a conversation as I forget what I'm saying and have to rely on SWMBO to tell me if I have taken my medication for fear of doubling up or not taking it at all.
(SWMBO may be renamed DOODLEBUG for I've learned that when the noise stops TAKE COVER!)

None of this was an issue until now. I have to see my GP on Friday who will no doubt refer me to the Hospital for a scan and other tests with more medication to add to the list.

I was quite happy listening to the voices 😉

Hope they find out what's causing all that, Bob.  This getting older lark is no fun is it?

No worries there TA...no buses here to fall under.

I was right though...sent away with a pack of Codine, a fasting blood/wee appointment made and a CT scan at the Hospital requested.
At least Dry January is over.......... 😉

My OH went to the doc this morning to get the paperwork signed for changing to a French driving license. He has come home with a pot too and appointment for wee/ blood tests tomorrow morning! Blood pressure and heart rate fine.

I had a fasting blood test this morning at 11:30 (I asked for a late one so I could sleep late) Everyone went in front of me until after 45 minutes I asked why. The new check in system had not logged me as in.

I had a bacon sarnie to cheer me up (and to celebrate my 4 stone weight loss)
