Incredibly windy here & fairly chilly, we had rain overnight. I still haven't been out to the chickens yet but I don't think they will mind as they hate this weather. I won't let the smallest chicks out into the pen as they will get blown away. Their coop is very large so they will be fine indoors maybe the weather will get better later, it is already getting brighter as I write.  smile

Oooh ! Sue, your weather moved over here pretty fast, the rain is coming down in torrents & the wind is terrible….still at least most of the chickens are inside still. They are not even calling to be let out…..how wise !!

Amazingly, it's gone from here now (sorry Nadine! embarassed) – the wind has virtually disappeared, it's almost stopped raining and the sky is brightening.  Due to get it back again though later on today, so the local forecast says yell

wave  Wow, what a night and what a morning!!  eeek   Storm force winds, heavy rain and hailstones have battered us and battered us.  Lots of trees are down, ferries are off and I have only just got the power on.  I don't trust it though as the lights are very dim.  It has at last calmed down a wee bit now and I am hoping we are past the worst of it.  I hope everyone else is safe and dry.  big_hug

cool  Now,would you believe it we have bright sunshine with a blue sky…… laugh All the chickens are out in the mud & wind…..yes, even the smallest chicks, mama hen insisted but every now & then she takes them back inside for a warm up & a cuddle. I have already collected 4 eggs this morning & other hens are sitting or waiting their turn. I had 7 eggs yesterday & I think I will get that, or more, today.

I hope the sun has reached everyone else who had heavy rain & wind.  cheers

Yes it is here now, minus the chickens and eggs, still windy though.

I'll try that again!

It's just gone horrible again, wind is up (so high that I can hear it without my hearing aid) and horizontal rain again.

I'll try that again!

It's filthy here today, the fence at the bottom of my back garden is trying to take off into neighbour's garden, which has meant I had to contact the landlord – never a good thing, generally whenever we have to ask him for anything, he puts the rent up afterwards *sigh*

think you have the wrong landlord big_laugh I have paid out for various things this year but have no intention of increasing the rent. It is not the tenants fault things need fixing, just the cost of doing business.

Just battled my way out to the vet as Suki  cat was due vaccinations. She has a problem with her skin at present and keeps throwing up. Vet says it is a parasite (not fleas) and has treated her so have to go back in 2 weeks for vaccinations what_the_heck

Torrential rain and still very windy

Just a bit of mizzly rain and the snow/rain/frozen rain/sleet is melting. Just before some whizz tells me that snow and sleet are frozen rain, I mean the type of rain that freezes on contact. cheers We had a shiny car last night with the layer of ice on it.

Gales and heavy rain overnight and this morning, sun and heavy showers since. When we took daughter to the train hers was on time, but the one an hour earlier was 45 minutes late–wires down around Redruth (are you ok Ruthie?) and the ones coming from the north were late because of flooding somewhere between Exeter and Bristol.
