I also bumped in to Mr Forbes in New York in the lobby of the Forbes building (think Forbes top 100) he was coming out of the lift and I literally bumped in to him.

Are we having fun yet? I am!

Now this might be stretching it a bit, but last night I found out that a bloke I know pretty well, whom I knew was engaged to be married, is engaged to the singer Sandi Thom, I've not actually met her, but I thought I would do a bit of name dropping.

I forgot I was once sat only a couple of rows on a plane from Windsor Davies and  Bob Carolgies not sure about the spelling of his name. They were part of the show going out to entertain the forces, we went to see the show 2 nights later.

I haven't accidentally met any famous people in person but I've seen a few from a distance. In Manchester, I saw Kevin Godley in a restaurant. I was on a bus when I saw Eamonn Holmes standing outside the BBC building.

I can't really count people I have met at readings/book signings, such as the late Patrick Moore, the late Iain Banks, Neil Gaiman, Julian Cope (the singer, who had written his book on ancient monuments).

When I was working at the University of Warwick medical school, nobel prize winner (and president of the Royal Society) opened the new research labs and we briefly spoke while he was doing a tour of the building.

Food related: I chatted to Alan Coxon (who had a tv show called Coxon's Country Kitchen on cable tv) at a country show a couple of years ago. He did a cookery demonstration and later on was manning a stall selling his produce, which included an 'alegar' - a vinegar made from ale.

Andrew Ray (son of Ted Ray) was one of my customers in the mid 70' also Giles the cartoonist

Steve Davis rode in my cab when he won the snooker in the 80's as did his opponent Kirk Stevens.

John Cusack and Malin Akerman in 2013 when the film company hired my bus to transport the film crew when making "The Numbers Station". (I got my name in the credits)ok

Oh I forgot....I challenged Jim Davidson when he tried to come aboard the minesweeper I served in on a courtesy visit to Poole,  I was on gangway duty and had not been told he was invited.
