Yesterday I smoked some boiled eggs. Nothing new there, they are rather good. However I also like pickled eggs so I have packed the eggs in to jars with plain distilled and white wine vinegar.

I'll let you now how it goes.

Experimenting is always good, Simon (even if the results aren't quite what we'd expectbig_laugh).  We learn something every time we experiment.  I know I am with my sort of sourdough trials.

Won't the vinegar overpower the smoke flavour though Simon?

I'll try that again!

No idea TA.

I'll let you know but if it did it wouldn't matter as I like pickled eggs anyway. tongue

Tried an egg yesterday. Very nice but as TA mused the smoke flavour was not prominent, however they tasted more than just pickled eggs.

As a thought I could add some liquid smoke to the pickling liquid.
