Anyone got one?

Friend's birthday today so need a super quick recipe to whip up when I finish at lunch time.  So it can cool and I can then decorate it in some, as yet, unknown manner.

Nothing like a bit of last minute panic to bring on your baking/decorating skills right?  what_the_heck

A Victoria sandwich, with some cocoa replacing some of the flour, is quickest to make and bake I should think Ruth.  Or cupcakes.......they're the fashionable thing to do right now aren't they?

I should have said......you could flavour the cake with some orange juice & zest and fill/decorate it with choc buttercream and Terrys choc orange segments and a bit of whipped cream with some more orange zest artfully sprinkled over.

There is a school of thought that is suggesting a piratical theme for this.

I thought maybe a boat shape creating by chopping cake in half across diameter and sandwiching the 2 semi circles together.  Add choc finger biccies etc for bowsprit, what have you.  Maybe.  eeek

Though I'm liking the sound of the orange option...nom nom nom...

I used to make a chocolate  orange cake using a chocolate victoria sandwich like Sue said and used a tablespoon of orange essence for the flavouring

Well done, Ruth - what flavour did you decide on - plain choc or orange choc?  welldone

"How do you spell 'Love'?" (Piglet).

"You don't spell it, you feel it" (Pooh).

'A hug,' said Pooh 'is always the right size!'
