She was steadily building up the business and had invested in a blast chiller/freezer when her back started to give trouble from lifting stuff. Something like a swollen disc if I understand it correctly.

Physio seems to be helping but the supermarkets that she had stocked up are now out of stock, so not so good for business. Hopefully she will be back in action soon but she has lost 6-7 weeks of production.

Her scones are to die for, though. When I stay over, I have them after breakfast, lunch and dinner!

Shame your sister is in Ireland, I could do with a bit of inside work for a while, my hands and knees just can't take the cold damp weather outside at the moment.

Yes indeed - she is caught in a quandary.

It's far too soon to take on help (no revenue to speak of yet) but if she doesn't do something then her earlier efforts will have been wasted.

It's such a shame.

Is there no-one in her circle who would help without reward?

I'll try that again!

Good question, Toni, and I don't know the answer. I'm sure her 2 boys will help out during the school holidays.

Her man runs a golf range that needs to be manned all day, every day, so he cannot do much for her.

It's a rural location too, which means many of her long standing friends are not within easy reach.

Is there no community centre with people who have nothing to do?  Church members? I do hope that she finds someone to help and soon.

I'll try that again!

She is currently confined to "complete rest", Toni. Her family does not know what has hit them! big_laugh

For anybody who does not use FB or has not seen my post:

Blas Na HEireann translates literally as Flavour of Ireland - an annual prestigious food awards event. Baby sis won a bronze in her category recently and the organisers invited her to submit a potted bio about her scones project. Good read.

Here you go

We are very proud of her achievement, for sure. It was a big deal for a complete newcomer up against many major commercial players in her category.

Sorry if I seem to be banging on about it here on CSH.

Actually - not sorry at all big_laugh big_laugh
