Just made this years batch of the syrup:

last year I ended up with more a coulis consistency; this year I got the syrup consistency and also added the cloves only ground as that is what I had in the cupboard..... delicious... have bottled up loads!

 

I was lucky to get it done as the berries are rapidly going over here in sunny France!

Oh, Mrs. smug!  Here we have some that have gone over but the majority are still small, hard and green.  I have to keep my eye on them, don't want to miss out this year.

I'll try that again!

I made my first ever batch last week and it's delicious! medicine

Got a whole drawerful of elderberries still in the freezer, so will be making more soon.  And still loads more berries on the trees! eeek

learning to love veg…..except celery :-O

Darn it, I still haven't finished the crab apple chilli jelly so can't make syrup until the pan is free of that.

I'll try that again!
