Nothing so complicated here…how much do you want and there you go…not much money changes hands…if he's a friend of yours he's a friend of mine and most of it is done through the heart.  I'm in a very Muslim area and that's great by me.  I leave my car unlocked and it's still there…it restores your faith in human nature…..and as I said the alcohol is cheap but one has to put in one's own controls…otherwise disastrous.

When you both need a holiday and you can forego the smallholding for a week or so….I think you would appreciate the nature here.  And free to friends…LN (Lecka Nosht)…my sign off.  Wave

I love the idea of a still. Hmmmm. Now you've got me thinking. Erm, MOS, any chance you could . . Big_Laugh

no probbs Danny just remember to keep the pipes clear on the condenser side Doh,the last one we built took the back out of roys garageSurprised ,but he did insist on having a tap on the end of the pipeThumbs_Down, instead of just letting it run , as far as i know its still the same as chip oil diesel you can make it for your own use but there must not be an eliment of profit or the boys come and get you, even if you barter it they get you Cry,do you want instructions or diagrams , to be honest its much easyer to brew strong wine and freeze the spirit out of it, saves all that steaming and gurgling MOSWink

Morning MOS

It's all about experimenting...my working days are over apart from the acre that needs love and attention but the house had to come first...the hotel at £7 a night including air con and internet access was getting expensive.Big_Laugh  The neighbours are encouraging me to keep livestock but I get their cows that seem to be able to jump and should be put forward for equestrian events and sheep took down my meadow pasture to a reasonable level earlier this week.  Chickens roam freely and I get given eggs and milk.

Yes it is a bit of paradise.  Fortunately not many English find their way down here so the ones that do are normally of like minds.  There again...Cannock Chase isn't a bad place to be...know it well.

As for the brewing....when I work out how to insert pickies I'll add the still and the outpourings.

Well it's like this MOS.  If I'd have sat down with a cuppa I'd never have been here.  Just for the record he's not 'my old man', don't have one and his girlfriend is about to move out when she sells the house in UK.  We just get up to a few things that the locals find amusing and my diary records the happy scenes.  I can manage pickies on my site.

I'm about 20km from the Greek border when the Greeks finish the road so yes, we do have the weather but if you take another route I can be at the seaside with my bucket and spade in approximately an hour.  Just too much to do though and am currently making furniture (before I settle in with the flavoured stuff, power tools and alcohol....now that would be exciting)SteamRunAway hospital!!   Got guests in a months time and a whole lot of empty space to fill Surprised.  Must get onWave

Your Diary looks fascinating, Elsa. Seen your "still" !!

I look forward to browsing more of it this evening.

All readers can view it by clicking on the little globe icon above Elsa's posts.

Thanks Danny for making the link.  Unsure whether it was acceptable practice or not but thought if anyone looked at the profile they would find me from there.

As you can see from the pickies it'is a beautiful part of the world....and if you have looked at the earlier shots of the house you will appreciate what my two little builders have achieved.  As I said I've only been 'resident' coming up for two weeks so still getting the hang of 'routine' but being an Aquarian it's not all that important.  We removed the old roof and added another storey and the neighbours have watched the changes with almost disbelief.  Most still have outside loos into poo-pits and mine = it's a sit-down one..and it's inside....but the biggest talking point is my dimmer switch in the lounge...the ooos and arrrs were astounding and the women bring their friends to have a look.  But they just don't have a look...it's a full inspection.  This mad pensionerSteamBig_Laugh

Again...thanks

Tonight we had our first taste of the Fiona's patented raspberry vodka I started off in March. It's really very good indeed. There's a good raspberry flavour, not too sweet and the underlying warmth of the vodka.

Thanks (yet again!) Fiona.

You lucky things, Shereen. Raspberry vodka is the best of all. Closely followed by damson gin IMO.

I think this year our entire raspberry harvest will be put to one use only!

Well it's saturday night, just come in from the garden and home alone so I thought I'd do a bit of quality control on my cherry spirits...vodka, gin and brandy.  Now it does say on the labels that they won't be ready for a couple of weeks but I thought I would just taste one cherry from each.....and who can stop at one.... so now I'm off to bed, the room is spinning and I can't wait for next years harvest....I think the desserts will be better than the alcohol....WineWineSteam  Big_Laugh

And now I've got this blessed sum to do....and I need to take both socks off.....

Have conducted a few tests. Raspberry vodka is fantastic. Bramble whiskey is still simply stunning.

Roll on September so I can go blackberrying again!
