We used to drink quite a lot of wine just a few short years ago. I guess, like everything else, our tastes come and go in phases.

Fiona's sister brought us three bottles of a gorgeous Rioja recently. They lasted right through three family meals with her mum over a period of months. That would not have happened back then. Wine had a half life of a couple of bottles per day. eeek

This one is really good and worth investing in a case or two when in funds.

You can buy it from Tesco wine (online only) and other outlets, but Tesco seem to be the cheapest. About £6 to £7.

Search for Berberana reserva 2006

If you enjoy a smooth rich red then you will love this.

I've always found Rioja to have quite a sharp taste to it, preferring Cabernet Sauvignon, do you not find this with the wine?

I'll try that again!

I like the Santa Ines Malbec Reserva when i can find it. Tesco used to do it but sadly no longer. However pretty much any of the Argentinian or Chillean malbecs are good.

Lots of fruit and  body.

wave I will admit to drinking more white than red at the moment.  Not too keen on Chardonnay, but love Pinot Grigot  and Sauvignon Blanc.   Cabarnet Sauvignon is my favourite red.  I too buy most of my wine from Tesco online.  I find them very good value.

Well, Sue, it figures.

Rosé is pink and the bubbles are blonde magic

Toni, I think most any wine can be sharp - especially ones like Cote du Rhone for example, or Riojas etc. Same goes for whites. You never know until you get it home and open it.

The Berberana is smooth as silk and tasty as 'eck.

Take it from one who has tried many a "budget" red.

In that case, dear boy, I shall send the Sommelier out to find a supply.

I'll try that again!
