Great to have someone to talk to Jean about fabric and yarn. I love going into fabric and yarn shops and just seeing all those colours and textures. I know this fabric is an absolute pain for being all slippy but it is a lovely colour, and handle and is very forgiving of my mistakes unlike the last embroidery project I undertook which snagged so easily eeek.

Joanna, I've just realized that you've had your hair re-styled – it looks very good, are you pleased with it?

I'll try that again!

It's all about colour and texture isn't it? And the pleasure of handling the cloth and yarn. He doesn't really get it – I think it is a Man Thing. You know, how they think there are just nine colours in the whole world and nothing in between. He didn't really get why I liked my last knitting project for myself – he thought it was just brown. There wasn't a single fibre of brown in the yarn – just a mixture of everything -blue, red, yellow, green. Elder daughter understood as soon as she looked at it.

A lot of yarns actually are more exciting in hanks than when knitted up!

That's my excuse anyway.

Kateuk makes things at http://www.etsy.com/shop/finkstuff and sometimes she does this too http://www54paintings.blogspot.com/ and also this http://finkstuff.weebly.com/

Lol, it must be the light, I have pretty much had the same style for about a year, just sometimes shorter than at other times and much greyer than a year ago. big_laughbig_laugh

That had me smirking away Jean and Kate, I know what you mean. Fortunately my dear hubby is actually quite well trained now and keeps hold of things he thinks may be useful for artwork, bless him! We do disagree on colours sometimes but he does appreciate a lot of what I do and critiques my work, not bad for a scientific bod. My daughter is starting to train up her soon to be husband by dragging him around a hobby shop for card for their wedding invites and my two sons are creative as one is doing car design and getting more into the art side and away from the more technical drawing and the other one was very good for his wedding and taking a very full part in the crafty stuff but he is quite the artist anyway – I love his paintings that he did for his A level art. cheers
