I found a very interesting site today - I have been looking for something to make with used denim, Magpie's Mumblings, and she mentioned another site which shows amazing artistry - here.

Brilliant!

I don't think I own any denim, what are you going to be making Val?

I'll try that again!

If you scroll down Magpie's Mumblings, you can see all those lovely bags she's made - and I now have lots more fabrics, for embellishing and lining.

One friend who bought another one of my denim bags reminds me occasionally how useful it is, and denim is so hardwearing!!

I saw this one, too:

from Empress Felicity

I'm quite impressed by the ingenuity of people !! smile

In my searching, I've also found a quilt design based on the wedding ring quilts, but again, using denim.

I made my first denim bag, well more of a holdall when the children were small.  It was to be used for the beach and to test the handles were strong enough, I got one of them in it and hoisted it up on to my shoulder..and they both lived to tell the tale of their upbringing.  Line with red shower proofing and consider that that was back in the 1970...the bag is still in use today but does need a new zip...it's on the list...big_laughbig_laugh

My second one was to take my squash gear and I even made a special pocket for the racket with a velcro handle holder on the outside....oh wasn't I productive....now I just renovating houses....eeekeeek

Arrh well that's about as good as you get for recycling. My daughter once made one pair of jeans from two - not a bad job at all!
