Well, this is recycling, but not jeans fabric! smile

Last week, while the grandchildren were staying, I made a teepee for them.

Their Mummy (our daughter) had given me a king-size duvet cover she no longer wanted, and wondered whether I could use the material. You bet!

It's a bit of a hodge-podge, no particular pattern, but I did like that one side of the cover had some satin-y layers and also some black velvet-y material, so I tried to use as much as possible of the right side. The rest is a no pattern side (boring!), but hey, it all came together - eventually!

Next time they come, they will use some sponges and paints, and make it to their own design. ok

Great fun Val, I bet the children love it......my brother & I spent ages building tents when we were young......driving my mother mad because we would "borrow" anything large enough to drape over sticks, furniture etc.  big_laugh

Well done Val, it looks like a lot of fun.  When I was small I would drape things over the old clothes horse to hide in.

I'll try that again!

When I first started this thread, it was because I had seen a website called Magpie's Mumblings.

Well, she has made a gorgeous quilt, yet again, from denim, here.

Another project that I would love to make! smile

(I think I need a bit of this wand - brightsparklystuff  so much to do, and so little time to do it!)

I don't think I spotted a quilt on that blog, mostly bags and jackets.  Did she corner the market in denim?  I can't say I'd be happy working with it.

I'll try that again!

In my mis-spent youth I used to go to rock concerts and the sort of pubs most of you ladies wouldn't pass let alone go into, here in South Wales at the time with the sort of riff-raff I associated with, we used to patch our jeans with bar towels when holes appeared, when they finally gave up the ghost there wasn't enough denim to recycle to make a headband.

I know what you mean, Steve, my husband insists on patches - he hates throwing things away. However, I won't wear them patched, so mine (and anyone else's) go into my stash!

Toni, this is the picture of the quilt - you have to scroll down about a quarter of the way on that page to see the quilt from my other post - which she says her husband actually likes! eeek She said he has even asked for another two, but smaller, so they can use the three as covers for the 3-piece suite!   Again eeek !

The quilt is lovely , I love the colours. I make patchwork quilts by hand , but I don't think I would like to hand sew through layers of denimroll_eyes

Never give up Tomorrow is another day.
