Made 5 so far, and another - a gardening* hat - is WIP.

The material is a creamy colour with garden 'things' on it - watering can; flowers; busy bees; birds, etc.

Val

i have all these jeans that Dave was about to throw out, there must be half a dozen pairs, I have realised that my eyes are bigger than my capabilities when it comes to all my crafty stuff, and before I send these off to the charity shop, would you like them?

Thank you Jan, if I lived nearer I would take them off your hands, but the cost involved (and effort) it is probably better in the charity shop. I do have a large boxed container of jeans, and if Mike's are suitable to take to a charity shop then that's what I would do with them.

Thank you very much for your thoughts, and thinking of me in this way, it is very much appreciated.

A friend who is emigrating asked me if I could use some material, so I accepted her offer - only to find she delivered three very large bagfuls - they are now lined up on the landing, and OH commented that I'm 'spilling out of my workroom' ..... whistle

Just a thought - if you think they are suitable for your crafting, it may be worth cutting them up in readiness - taking out the thick seams, etc. so they are ready for anything you fancy making.

How many times have I wished I lived nearer to you ..... ? smile  big_hug

They are finally heading to the charity shop, kept some material just for repairs and that...hmm only took me a month to get round to that!

I think one of these denim hangings would come in very handy to keep my knitting / sewing accessories tidy. I have a whole lot of denim garments which are definitely well passed their best so at least I can salvage the pockets.

wave Thanks Val,

You might enjoy this one too. I will use a jeans leg to make a knitting project bag.....always useful.

Saw this while doing a bit of surfing this morning, looks simple enough, and sort of rustic ! whistle

I can live without denim...

I'll try that again!

See, Toni, the thing is, I really don't want to throw things away. Denim is strong.

Even this morning, OH asked if I would patch yet another pair of his work jeans. Now the jeans are in the washing machine, and I'm wondering how my patch has stood up to being washed! wink

Denim bags are also great, as they are so hard-wearing. ok

I understand that Val, I am simply not keen on it as anything other than jeans, and even then I wouldn't wear them.  Just a matter of choice really, I am happier in linen and love to see and touch that.

I'll try that again!

I love linen, but not on me, I'm so scruffy that anything linen looks like I'm wearing a potato sack within 5 mins of putting it on, I wish I was elegant.confused

You and me both, Jan. That's probably why I like denim, it's a bit more robust for my kind of life! whistle

But that is the whole point of linen, it always looks scruffy no matter how much you iron it.

I'll try that again!
