Yes, that is the one, TA, I had a look on her blog and found a slightly different way of making the box (easier, I thought) and made one - we were quite impressed with it, and will probably make some for Christmas presents of home-made fudge / truffles / cookies etc.

Rae Mond, great that you now have a shop!  welldone

The earrings are difficult to see though, in fact a little blurred I thought.

Oh, Ruth, glad to see you're online atm - I have thought about your denim projects - how about something like this.

This could actually be made by hand - would take a while, I suppose, but something that could be done in stages, while watching tv, say.

Thank you for the link BS - some of those are works of art.  Could be combined with the fleece for the backing as well.  Ooh - you've got me thinking now. ponderok

I've just spent ages making loads of boxes of varying size in black card. I  can't believe I didn't learn how to do this when I was little! I'm so easily amused.

Starting with an A4piece of card I did the classic folding one corner over thing to make a square, then had to use a second piece of A4 card to make the second square, so I used the bits I'd cut off to make really tiny boxes. they're so cute. I have no idea what I could put in them, but I don't care.

Tiny boxes rule!

I could make an advent calendar out of them. That would be cool. I could write the numbers on the tops with silver pen. Then maybe find an ingenious way of making them hang from something...

Or, if I poked a needle through the top of the lid I could hang them that way, so long as what was in them wasn't very heavy.  But you'd need the numbers on the sides rather than the tops then.

Hmmmm. I may have to experiment.

Oh, Rae Mond, you do things that are so close to my heart - I went out and bought some wonderful papers - and they are 12-inch ones, too. There are 10 sheets, five designs in beautiful rich colours - apparently "Ethnie-Orient" - all golden browns and swirly (meant for scrapbooking), but they will certainly look fab as boxes. ok

I wonder if they could be gently strengthened with a square of card inside the box. Inside your tiny box could be a single truffle, and hung on your Christmas tree, with a sparkly star stuck on the black background!

I also bought a pack of fine green corrugated card, to make some mini-Christmas trees to go on Christmas cards - the teacher I work with hates crafts, so I fill in with making the cards with the children, and I like to offer several designs for them to choose from.  smile

wave  Oh you will have such fun with those children BS.  I do miss Christmas in school.  The atmosphere is fantastic even if all you can hear in your brain are the carols or songs for the concert.  big_laugh

You're so right Danuta - this is quite a special time with the children.

I just hope that I will be back soon, otherwise I shall miss it all.

Last year, I knitted 24 tiny bobble hats and made them into an advent 'washing line', all with the appropriate day number on them - my plan was to buy a tiny gift to put into each one, but teacher didn't like the idea - and then when I wasn't there she forgot about them as well doh .

I wonder whether it's worth continuing sometimes ....... but then I remind myself that I get a sense of achievement out of it magic , and I hope the children get something out of my being there, too.  ok

Thanks, Danuta   embarassed   big_hug

Too many regulations nowadays (remembering the fun I had at school) - I even save all little plastic containers for the reception class to make their models, and one thing I loved at school was the egg trays and painting them all different colours. Now, we're told no loo-roll tubes, and no egg boxes - health and safety malarkey. The kids are missing out!!!!!   frown
