Great supermarket shop today - in Auchan, Cognac:

5 kgs potatoes - Euro 1

10 x kiwi fruit - Euro 1

2.5 kgs large clementines - Euros 2.99

Net of garlic - 20 crowns - Euros 1.19

Euro 1 = 87pence at the moment.

Quite chuffed - as I now have plenty of vit C to ward off those bugs !! RunAway

"How do you spell 'Love'?" (Piglet).

"You don't spell it, you feel it" (Pooh).

'A hug,' said Pooh 'is always the right size!'

Strange this - I thought I posted into 'Achievements' and whaddya know - I appear to have started another thread. Wouldn't be anything to do with an 'Admin' personage, would it???

Not only the supermarket grocery shopping, but also the supermarket fuel - Diesel was Euro 1.01.9 per litre. With a thirsty-ish vehicle like ours, this is quite a saving!

phew diesel is cheap on your neck of France; ours is 1.05 and unleaded is between 1;25 an 1.29

I generally find shopping more expensive here in france than in the UK; but then Toulouse is an expensive town!

Sounds obvious but if you have an Aldi near you keep a check on this page for their super 6 offers on fruit and veg.  Changes each week but at time of writing celery is a mere 29p and as I'm now hooked on braised celery thanks to CS I know where I'll be stocking up!  Laugh

Morrisons have a couple of pretty good deals on veg atm as well - 1kg Rooster spuds - 30p, and 500g carrots - 30p.

Monster Monster at you speculative naysayers!

Nope. My zapper does not smell of cordite either. In fact, I wrote an EXTRMELY AMUSING response last night (IMO) but the damned site went down and it was lost in cyberspace.

Basically, it accused BS of purchasing too many petrol cans filled with cheap French red wine from the market.

I stand by that theory!

Never knowingly underfed

This morning, a lovely large pineapple - Euro 1.

1 Kg carrots - 50 cents

1 kg onions - 40 cents

Special Offer - a rib of beef for our Sunday roast this weekend - Euros 6.

Oh, and P.S. - I don't drink wine, monsieur. Only Guinness !!
