Resurrection time!
It was while cooking tonight that I remembered a trick I use to cut down on energy bills for cooking rice. I don't have a steamer but what I do is add one cup of rice to 2 or 2 and a bit cups of water, bring it to the boil and boil for 2 minutes, then shut off the heat. Whatever you do, don't peak for at least 20-30 mins (I am never that accurate). The pan will still be hot and the rice cooked.
