I just came across this marvellous blog full of useful information, especially this article suggesting lots of uses for discarded citrus peels. I always have a huge amount of these at this time of the year & I re-use a lot in cooking but I was very interested in her suggestion for use in cleaning.

Another interesting use of 'throw away' peels......mine usually go in the compost, but I have to try this as I make my own apple vinegar so I already have a lovely "mother" in that bottle. I have read that other makers add rosemary to flavour their banana vinegar. I would add it to the boiling skins mixture.

Hi Michelle,

Unfortunately that link does not work; it says that the blog has been removed, maybe it has a new home?

Hope the new year is bringing you & Dan happier & more prosperous times.  big_hug & rose
