Just thought of another Lemon tip, and have tried this, it,s lovely. There is always some Lemon juice left after you have squeezed your Lemon, dribble it over Sugar, let it dry, put in Jar, and use to top plain Cupcakes, it looks pretty and tastes super.

I  only cook for one, so a piece of Haddock, or any other Fish is too much for me, so Itake off a third, freeze it, then every four weeks, have enough for a Fish Pie.chef

I am determined not to waste anything this Year, not to just pay Lip Service to it, to this end have , after washing, of course, put my Veg Peelings in the Slow Cooker, to make Stock. Another thing I learned not long ago, was to slice your Potato Peelings a wee bit thicker, put in a Plastic Bag with a bit of Oil and seasoning, I use Paprika, give a good shake, tip onto a Tray, I use my very useful small Pizza Tray, and bake in a very hot Oven till crisp, really delicious.  When I think of all the Peelings I have wasted in the past !

Like the idea of the potato peelings. Mine currently go in the compost. Will try that one.

They  really are delicious, and you can have any Flavour, I have mine for Lunch, but also save the Peelings in the Freezer till I need them. Think Paprika is best.

Had the end of a Tin of M and S Chicken Roll, three Days old, not wanting to waste it but fed up of eating it in Sandwiches, an all too common Problem, when catering for One.  So softened some Butter, and blitzed it in my Mini Processor with the Chicken and a bit of Gherkin.  Result, Three small Mini Jam Pots of Chicken Spread, that I will freeze, and use as and when needed.   Feeling smug. lol.laugh

Just call me Mrs Smug, Val, because am going to be doing a lot more of this sort of thing, not because I need to, but I hate throwing small bits out, just going to make more Effort.

You and me both, Tina. I'll turn leftovers into something tasty if I can, and sometimes it can be a pleasant surprise!! big_laugh

Here is a link to more frugality, there is even a free eBook on the right-hand side.

I'll try that again!
