Sorry for that - new here and working out how it all works.

I know that nettles can be eaten, although have never done it myslef.   Want to.  Will do, this Summer.

I always put nettles in my tertiary rainwater barrel.  It creates a stinky but effective liquid fertiliser.

I made the mistake of puuting nettles into my compost bin this year.  Inow have hundreds of tiny nettles growin in my raised veggie borders (which were 'treated' with my compsost).  D'Oh!

Just look at his great ears flapping about.

wave  I've heard nettle juice is very smelly.  My rainwater barrel is right outside the door of the polytunnel.  Would the smell be too strong if I put nettles in it?

I think that if you put nettles in a barrel it is OK.  But put them in the watering can and cart them around the house plants and let me tell you - this missus will complain!"

OOhhh! Don't wait until summer, as soon as they poke their little heads above the ground is best, if you wait until summer they are past their best cheers. I add nettles and ground elder to pasta instead of spinach and they taste great.

Whoops nearly forgot to say Hi
