Yes, I'd be interested to know too Vic, I've just looked on my local council site and they offer a bokashi bin set sort of thing for £36, can't decide whether to get. I need to see how much the bran stuff costs.

Having looked at a number of forums about Bokashi bins  - one drawback seems to be tht a lot of people say they smell - also the bran seems pretty dear as is the postage for it.  For my office project they would not be the ticket for both these reasons. I have now found a positive review of hot bin composting on the Fredshed website so am inclined to go with that even with the initial cost. Fredshed is a website I have a lot of time for as whilst it is generally positive - he doesn't name and shame very much - he does only endorse good stuff which appeals to the tool snob in me - I just wish I could afford some of the garden kit he says is good.

Overall I think hot composting is going to be more suitable for the wide variety of stuff the office would throw in to the thing - so now it is the toss up between the hotbin or the Green Johanna? Or do I make one using an IBC with a lagged covering to look pretty and provide insulation
