Yes thanks Aly, might as well keep the diet talk where it belongs!

Yesterday, even with my half a pizza and a glass of cider in the evening, I was - just - within my calorie allowance for the day, although I did do an extra 5 mins on the bike, just to make sure.

Husband just doesn't 'get' this dieting stuff, bless him.  We've just had lean back bacon, scrambled egg and tinned tomatoes (he had toast as well, I didn't) for brunch, husband cooked it.  Without asking or telling me first, he added a big dollop of cream cheese to the eggs - he told me after I'd finished eating.  Have just pointed it up and that has added an extra 80 or so calories that I hadn't accounted for dohHave tried to impress upon him not to do anything I haven't specifically asked for.

Having homemade beef stew later, with a couple of homegrown new pots and cabbage.  Then sugar-free jelly and blueberries for pud.

No Tina, we don't need to know your weight!! big_laugh But it's nice to know how we're all doing.  I shall be weighing myself tomorrow morning.  Keep meaning to measure myself as well but haven't remembered so far......should go and do it now!

I am having my weekend off! Back to fasting tomorrow though. Roast is now cooking and will do apple crumble and ice cream for pud.

no need to reveal your weight if you don't want to. This will be a pressure free zone where we can support each other.

It will take a while for OH to understand Sue. Mine still offers me lunch on a fast day. When I comment on it I am told he cannot kerp up with whether I am eating or not!

Yes it will do, Aly.  He has promised not to bring me any crisps or chocolate home from work though, as he has been doing occasionally.

Well, am going to reveal all, not literally, too much of a shock, but weighed myself this morning and was 15 Stone, on the Button. My goodness, the poached Egg on Toast for Lunch, I just had tasted delicious, makes you appreciate your food when you get it, I allowed myself one Jaffa  Cake for my sweet hit. Am going to have to get a Battery for my Electronic Machine, as do not feel safe on the new one, too small, and I have to let go briefly when I weigh myself.

My original weight was 15st 4lbs. I got down to 10st 4lbs but am currently 11st 11lbs. I can get into all my size 12 clothes but want to lose another stone. It will take a while but can be done. Try to aim for small goals...first being to be 14 something. Once there set another small goal. That way you will maintain your motivation.

Well done for facing it, not easy I know.

My weakness is Jacobs Choice Grain Crackers, not Chocolate would not bother if I never saw it, or any other sort of Sweet, but do like my Puddings. I never buy Bread ordinarily, but last time I Dieted, I found Weight Watchers Malted Grain Bread, the one I liked best. Have also got a Fridge full of WW Yogurts, which taste good and are low in Calls. Then we come to the sweet hit and a Jaffa Cake fills the Bill, will weigh myself in a couple of Days. Of course, it is always easier when you only have yourself to cook for. Onward and upward!wave

Fasting today so just black coffee now. I will not eat until this evening and have planned a big veg frittata, something I often have on fast days. Head is in a good place with this, long may it last!

Day 7 of the diet, my first weigh in tomorrow.

I seem to have settled in to a diet regime now, every morning I go to my MFP page and enter in my proposed menu for the day, then make any adjustments so I stay under my calorie allowance.  Today I'm going to do a homemade lamb rogan josh with a couple of small (bought) pakoras, no rice as that will exceed my allowance but will have some broccoli & cauli with it.  Cottage cheese salad for lunch, natural yogurt and half a mango for breakfast.

Hope everyone is motivated and doing well.

Well done Sue-I am going to have a look at the MFP site, as I need an incentive to stay with my reduced eating regime now I am on my own, nobody to cheer me on at home anymore. Don't want to put weight on by allowing a little creeping up each week. Not helped by visitors yesterday (son and family) where I ate more than usual.

Signed up on MFP, using what I ate today already, (including the scone I had as a test run of the food in a café) I have 133 calories left, if I add the tortellini half pack for tonight, I overshoot my target by 277 calories, but undershoot the protein by 18 g, however it projects I will lose 5lbs in 5 weeks if I carried on like that, which would suit me- I imagine that projection will change as the week progresses.

I need to drink more water and less milky tea though!

Hannah I think the MFP site is a great resource, so helpful, I'm really glad Aly recommended it.

My exercise bike is a real boon, I'm using it for 30 mins a day now, split into 3x10 min sessions, and of course exercise gives an extra calorie allowance.  Is there some exercise you can do to boost your allowance, Hannah?  Sorry but I don't think riding your Goldwing would count big_laugh(unless you got off and pushed it !!).

Sue -definitley pushing the Goldwing would count as major exercise. I have just been down to my local gym where I had a pay as you go membership and updated the name and address details so that I can start again. With all the upheaval and getting on with my new life, I decided to give it a miss until I felt comfie about going back there and exercising again. I did not really count my exercise in to the calorie saving with my former major dieting stint, to me it was a bonus to help keep in shape, and I will probably view it the same way now. I don't really have much to lose, but it will be good to keep track of what I am eating, to go with my weekly self weigh in.
