Had my weigh in with the nurse yesterday, I've lost another pound, 10lbs in total.  Nurse was very pleased that I want her to weigh me regularly and praised my loss to date and my motivation.  She had a good tip for those starting out on a diet.....she said rather than cutting out everything you think you should and possibly quickly losing motivation when you miss and crave things, try cutting out just 3 things to start with (e.g. in my case bread, cheese and butter).  Then when you're used to that after 2 or 3 weeks, cut out another couple of things, and so on.  Oh, and she also said don't forget to give yourself a small treat occasionally, something to look forward to perhaps once a week.

well done Sue, when I used to do weight watchers yrs ago , I used to keep those freddo chocolate frogs in the freezer and have one on a sunday. Another tip if you feel like picking go and clean your teeth the mint toothpaste stops you wanting too, I used to use this reguarly.

Never give up Tomorrow is another day.

All my resolve from last week went out the window it seems, put 3 lbs on this week. A couple of clothing items have begun to feel tighter, so I'm not buying anything larger, I fell in to that trap years ago, so now actively castigating myself and will eat less.(honest)

Good for you Hannah. It is a slippery slope to go into bigger sizes, where does it stop?

Thanks for the pats on the back, ladies.  Hannah, get back on the wagon!!

We're off out for the day so will be eating out......will probably go to a Wetherspoons or similar and I will endeavour to choose something healthy.  Ham and mushroom omelette for tea when we get back.

Can't remember what we had in the Wetherspoons, but it was mostly downhill from then on (seeing as I didn't have you lot looking over my shoulder whistlebig_laughembarassed).  But have been back on it for the past 2 or 3 days so things are getting better, also back on the bike after about 5 days of ignoring it.

Well done Hannah......I think the last time I was 10 stone odd was probably when I was in my early teens!!eeekI guess you must be slight framed and not too tall then.

I'm 5 foot and a bit. I seem to settle at 8 and a half stone in summer when it's easier to eat less stodge but in winter I can easily gain a stone I'd rather not have. I could easily just keep on gaining so I do try quite hard to control my eating habits because after losing a quarter of my body weight I promised myself I wouldn't put it back on.

I'm plant based except for my own ducks eggs when I'm at home, and gluten free as well. But I love cakes and biscuits and sweet puddings and treats. I just make slightly healthier versions and don't bother with potatoes! I've also had some success with 5:2 but I'm giving it up while I'm going to be extra busy this month.

Never assume anything - except an occasional air of intelligence.
