Following the good response on the Damsons topic whilst picking today we have come across a few more in the hedges I have attached a few more pictures if any one would be able to comment...

Someone mentioned these could be elderberries?

This bush was mixed in with the sloes it reminded me of a cherry?

Thanks again john

Hi John

Yes, the middle pic is elderberries.....at least, I'm pretty sure they are, they look the same as the ones in our garden.  Can't say about the others, sorry.

The top one looks like Woody Nightshade to me- DO NOT EAT!

Second one, yes, Elderberries.

Third one probably a Bullace, the leaves look too rounded and thick for a cherry and the stem too short.

Kateuk makes things at http://www.etsy.com/shop/finkstuff and sometimes she does this too http://www54paintings.blogspot.com/ and also this http://finkstuff.weebly.com/

I agree with Kate about the first two, can't comment on the last one.  When taking pictures of berries, try to capture the image of the leaves and branch too, it helps with ID.

I'll try that again!

Agree with Kate, first is definitely a nightshade, do not eat and wash your hands after touching, 2nd is elderberries and 3rd, some sort of wild plum thing - see other forum posts on debates over plums/bullaces/damsons etc

I'm happy with that assessment
