Took Bruno for evening walk and found two field mushrooms bigger than my hand. In July?

Same here with the mushrooms Aly, I noticed some in the orchard last week and we have a clump up by the horses field.

wave  I have picked them here before in July, but it is usually later on.  Must be all the damp humid weather!!!  whistle   They sound great field mushrooms.

Yes we have mushrooms popping up locally- I think they felt Autumn had arrived it was so cool and damp.

Are we having fun yet? I am!

We get them the size of dinner plates here! I look forward to picking them, a real seasonal treat!

Despite living in the midst of racing studs, we get surprisingly few mushrooms in season. It's probably turned too hot this week but maybe early August we will go foraging.

I really like the recipes on this site. Came across it via one of the vibrant ad links and bookmarked it.
