Just been Googling - apparently all are safe to use but Rosa Rugosa, the fatter ones, appear to have more flavour.  So, off you go to get your arms ripped to pieces! big_laugh  Have you invested in a walking stick yet?  They are invaluable for bringing tall branches down to your level.

I'll try that again!

Well said!   Someone I know says 'why try to fit in when you were born to stand out?'

I'll try that again!

one of my favourites is "normal is not something to aspire to be, its something to get away from" and "someone changed the location of normal and didnt give me a map"

Hi all,

I just have a newbie question - what's a Haw? Is it the same as a rosehip? When I googled it (because I didn't want to ask on here & appear stoopid embarassed) the pics that I could find were confusing.... I then tried to translate what I thought was German for rosehip back into English, and Haw into German but even my online translator got confused and there's a big forum post about how to translate the two with complicated German in it that I tried to wade through and gave up and I was planning to go looking for them in the woods nearby because I was sure that I saw some last winter and we have had some frost already so they should be good..... IF I can work out what they are & not pick something poisonous.......Deep breath........ Sigh!

Would you mind enlightening me as to the difference between the two, pwetty ploise?

Signed,

Confused

Veronica

wave I did.  However it was the most awful day to be driving in.  It rained very, very heavily the whole way there and back and there was a lot of water on the roads with visibility very poor.  I'm feeling quite exhausted, in fact not too great at all.  I am meant to be going to a Race Night tonight - a fundraiser for the Village Hall, but I have just phoned to see if they have enough people helping and could someone else do my job.  Why do I feel guilty for not going???

So I am going to have a quiet night with perhaps even an early night and hope that I feel fine tomorrow in time for our after shoot lunch.  ( By the way the soup is really delicious, warming and filling, just right for this appalling weather )

Veronica, a Haw is the fruit of the Hawthorn tree or bush.  There are two types, the Common which has one seed inside and the Midland which has two.

Here is a link to some images.

I'll try that again!

Glad you got back safely Danuta. big_hug That's a heck of a round trip.  I know why you feel guilty, but people will understand that you are exhausted.  I hope the early night will set you up for your shoot tomorrow, happy to hear that the soup is good.

I'll try that again!
