Hi guys. I've been having trouble quoting posts when I want to reply to something someone else has said. I hit the "post reply" button as always, but my posts look like they run on from the post I'm quoting, appearing in italics even though I haven't put them on.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

TIA

Try leaving about 3 lines between the quoted text and your reply.  (imaginary lines obviously)

Failing is not a fault, refusing to try is

Hooray! That worked!! Thank-you again.

I'd been leaving 2 lines and thought that looked huge, but it doesn't actually show up as a huge gap in the post.

The other thing to look for is the quotation marks which are about 7 squares in from the left and helpfully look like quotation marks

When it is yellow you are writing in a quotation box

When it is blue you are not writing in a quotation boxcheers, which is why I can

switch it on

and switch it off again whistle

I start typing where the cursor is, and then edit the quote after that if I don't want to quote it all. Joanna, thanks for the information on the quotation marks. I didn't realise they had a use. doh
