I was just wondering if anyone is interested in bullace.  We have 4 or 5 trees in the garden full of fruit.  So far I have made bullace chutney, bullace gin and today bullace jam, but still there is masses of fruit.  If anyone lives near Stansted let me know and you are welcome to come and pick fruit for free, otherwise it will all fall and be useless.  There is loads for everyone.

wave Hello Julie, welcome to the forum.  That's a generous offer I wonder how many members live out that way?

I'll try that again!

Welcome Julie waveWish I could remember what organisation collects fruit from trees to give to those on low incomes or something like that! Done so much reading over the last few years I have no idea where I picked up that piece of info and google is only trying to sell me fruit trees when I look it up doh

Here is a link. I eventually tried googling community fruit which came up with it, along with some that looked promising but turned out to be in New Zealand.

Here it is, I hope it is useful. I haven't gone further than this page.

Julie,

you got any homeless shelters/soup kitchens near you?

They may be interested in the fruit.

Local churches may also know of organisations, or you could try freecycle.

Failing is not a fault, refusing to try is

Oh yes Freecycle is a good one, I regulalry check freecycle in my area at this time of year for anyone offering free pickings from their trees
