Silly question I know but what colour is greengage jam supposed to be? confused

You might think that greengage jam would be green, but no! surprised

Have a look here - it is a Waitrose recipe for greengage jam, and there is a picture, too - you can see it is a plummy light browny colour. Sorry, my colouring description is rubbish!!

Thanks for the welcome and letting me know what colour the jam is supposed to be¦!¦

I made the jam before i asked the question ¦¦thats why i asked it! ¦..I was a bit worried by the colour but as it turns out it seems to be the right colour after all and better still ¦¦it tastes wonderful!¦.thanks again ¦¦¦.(I often have mad moments so ¦..maybe i shall fit in??¦.)

No worries, Elaine - we had the same reaction to the colour when Fiona made it for the first time this year. I guess we were used to greengage jelly growing up, which set our expectations for all things greengage.

TA, it seems to happen also if you type a line of text with no spaces. I tried inserting spaces in Elaine's last post. Is that any better?
