Hello all

A few years ago I tried a meat chutney, made with duck I think, and it was delicious. But try as I might I have not been able to find a recipe/method for making meat chutneys. Has anyone got any ideas or recipes?

Thanks Duncan

I agree it is unusual, and can sound unpleasant but it actually is very nice. I did talk to the chap who made them and in brief he said that it was the same process as making a veg based chutney, but that meat such as beef or duck were also used.

I tried searching for this - apparently yummly.com had a beef chutney, but I couldn't access it, unfortunately.

Certainly something I'd like to try .....

Just a thought - our original mince meat did, in fact, have minced meat in it.  Why not take a recipe for that and, instead of adding the suet, add the meat and process in the usual manner?

I'll try that again!

The Amish still put meat in their mince pies as they were made in days gone by in England. I will search through my books and see if there is a recipe there
