I found this unusual recipe by David Lebovitz for Pickled Turnips in my email box today. It looks interesting & easy.

Hattie, this guy is so enthusiastic, you can't help but want to try his recipes - and I wouldn't mind trying this one either.

Joanna, if you have the time to cut a turnip into matchsticks (does anyone? big_laugh) turnips are lovely in a stir-fry! A little bit of crunchy texture.

Hi Val,

David Liebovitz is one of my all time favorite bloggers, have you tried any of his ice-cream/sorbet recipes.......if not, you should. laugh

Got around to digging up the turnip and we are on the second portion taken out of it. I roasted it tonight with beetroot, carrots, onions and squash. Last night it went in a tomato mixture with carrots (can you tell we did well with carrots?), onion and some beetroot (yup not a bad crop of that either) and some lamb mince patties.cheers Maybe I shall stir fry it tomorrow to go with the quiche that I made tonight.
