I thought this recipe for pickling red peppers was very simple & would be very useful come winter. I am going to look out for bargain peppers in the market next week.  Here is the link.....

That looks good Hattie, I adore peppers as long as they are not raw.  In particular I like the flame roasted ones that come in a jar with oil  -  I find them very tasty.  Would you use ordinary peppers or those tiny sweet ones or the long sweet ones?

I'll try that again!

I agree with you there.  I clicked on the name of someone who had left a comment and came up with her own blog which included a roasted pepper and tomato soup which I know I shall enjoy doing.  the link is here.

I'll try that again!

Oh Hattie - that was posted just at the right time  ok .

Currently in our local supermarket, (in France), they are selling nets of 6 peppers for E1.50.

I have not only saved this recipe (and printed it off), but also the Shoyu Chicken. i_am_hungry

Here, Toni, Sissi talked about it in one of her responses, so I typed it in her search box.

Thanks, yes, I had spotted that one but I wouldn't like cucumber in with it.  I tend not to buy mangoes from a supermarket since they take a while to get properly ripe so generally get them from a market or Asian greengrocer since they sell different varieties.

I'll try that again!

Aly, we went into Auchan today, and the net of red peppers cost E1.99. However, this time it has 8 peppers in the net. When you consider that is about £1.55. In the UK, just 1 pepper is about 60-70p, so quite a saving.

Also a Charentais melon for E1.00 and a box of 6 beautiful peaches - E1.00.

Going to try my hand at pickled peppers now.......
