I do hope that it all goes well for Fiona.  And good luck on the on-line sales too. Big_Hug

Thanks, MOS. At least now we know where we stand.

And thanks for your good wishes, TA. We are hopeful that it will work out. Also, hopefully F will get a bit of publicity in Woman and Home in Aug and The Kitchen Garden in Sep unless the editors change their minds (yet again!).

I'll try that again!

Danny - I've bought flowers from Flying Flowers in Jersey before as presents for my Mum.

They send things like spray carnations and chrysanthemums, wrapped in cellophane & bubblewrap and packaged in a robust cardboard box. First class post gives you next day delivery on the mainland, or the day after to the wilds of Norn Iron. The flowers seem to be picked in bud and they have lasted well in Mum's care.

Thanks for that tip, Shereen. Fiona has also found a packaging mechanism used by the Wriggly Wigglers online store. We need to get one to try it out. We probably need a guaranteed next day courier service. It's all a big learning curve.

I was finding jars for chutney today, and put some into tiny breakfast jam jars, for stocking fillers. I thought about those of you who sell jams and wondered if boxing a range of jams in small jars would be a high value added product. Something like A Day in Preserves, marmalade for breakfast, chutney for lunch, jam for tea, or A Week in Jam like those incredibly expensive boxes you can get with tea and jams or wih a range of whiskey marmalades, or shortbread, tea and jam. All aimed at the tourist market!
