Hi guys,

This is my first post.  I'm new to all this chutney making etc although I do love to cook!  Anyway I made Sloe chutney yesterday and today the best way to describe it is tar.......what did I do wrong? lol

Thanks

Dayna

wave Hello and welcome Dayna!

You've probably cooked it too long but you can recover it if you put it back in the pan with some water.  Does it taste alright?

I'll try that again!

Hi, where did you get your sloe chutney recipe from?  I thought I'd first heard of it on this forum or the blog, but after searching both haven't come up with anything.  I want to make a chutney for my husband who likes them in his sandwiches (I've never been a chutney eater, not that I don't like them just not something I've ever done).  I want to make one with a tried and tested recipe using ingredients I can easily get hold of (eg sloes).
