Ref: 'Madame Scarecrow'
We have had a chat today and have decided that we are not going to carry on with our story regarding the above! We have decided that its all a lot of water 'passed under the bridge' Its better for us to forget it all and move on with our lives, that have for the past months been blighted by Madame Scarecrow. She has blighted the lives of others and I wish I could give a list of names and addresses of people she has hurt.
We don't hate her, we are just so angry with her, as are these other people. Angry also for those poor animals that were in her keeping.
Maybe this is not the right place to vent ones anger and for that we are sorry.
We would rather be chatting about what Cottage Smallholder is really about. Its a brilliant site and we have learned a lot from it
We wish everyone well and carry on posting.

Our French neighbour* returned home after a fishing trip, and his wife came round with two fresh trout already prepared for cooking!
Their next-door-neighbour has brought round a brace of pheasants from the chasse in the past, too. This same guy also last year brought a bowl of cherries, and another bowl of raspberries from their garden.
*I always take mature Cheddar cheese for them, they adore it!

Thankyou Geof, I for one am pleased that you have taken this decision.
I am also sorry if this has all been difficult for you.
Good luck in the future.

Hi Geoff
I can imagine it wasn't easy being Madame S's landlords, and I admire your restraint on the matter! You're right, sometimes it's best to let it go and get on with life.
NB, I'm sure everyone here was aware they were only getting one side of the story and that it was at times heavily embroidered … It was entertaining, which made it easy to overlook the possibility that other people were not happy with the situation.

I can sympathise as an ex-landlord myself, it is hard when things don't turn out the way we would like, but like you said best to let things lie.
I guess Carole has worked out if she has the makings of a good book now

Well yes it's all very well this ' we'll forget all about it, water under the bridge….' etc but truthfully there are a lot of people who want to know the nitty gritty. I mean for months this has been the must-see thing on t'internet. Unless we know the full story from all points of view we will be unable to find closure.
Sorry, I know this goes against the pussy footing around, don't offend people rules. But obviously there are two sides to this story.
If the other side is not going to be represented here, please let us know where we can read it. I for one like to make my own mind up.
best wishes to all.

I think you have to remember what this site is about. Many of us have our own websites where we live our lives…. we contribute to this one…supporting fellow members in times of stress, illness, joy and despondency.
MS on the other hand has 'piggy-backed' her life to this site rarely contributing to the other threads so in fact has not been part of this site but been 'apart' from this site.
Let it lie…why rake over coals….it's not what this site is about…

I would be very interested to read the other side of this story so if you do document it elsewhere i'd like a link too :)

Well said, Elsa. That sums it up neatly.
Geof – thanks to all three of you for your decision to "let the hare sit" and move on. No doubt you have a whole different story to tell.
This forum has hosted Madame Scarecrow's tale willingly but sometimes uncomfortably because it is a thing apart from what we are all about.
A chapter has ended. I think any future epic adventures deserve a site of their own.
Thank you, Carole. It has been fascinating and riveting at times.
Edit: Just to be clear – this thread is now locked. No more posts are possible. By all means open a new thread in this MS forum if you wish but this particular topic is at an end.
