I must admit that I've never seen them for sale in my butcher's shop, are they a supermarket thing?

I'll try that again!

I often find them in the cheaper supermarkets, places like Asda and Morrisons, usually for something like 99p. The meat is fine, but they often still have the leg tendons in, which take some getting out, cooked or uncooked. I assume they are removed when you buy a whole turkey.

Thanks for that, I have no idea about tendons in turkeys as I have never bought one.

I'll try that again!

i really do not like turkey but my mum used to ask our butcher to remove and bone the thighs. Then she would stuff them and simply bind them with cord. Set them alongside the main bird for xx hours in the oven.

Crikey, were they tasty or what. That was all I wanted on my plate. Delicious!

Never knowingly underfed

Agree - turkey does make an excellent stock!

I have to admit to getting rather bored with the same old routine of Christmas turkey. It might have to be something else next year.  smile

"How do you spell 'Love'?" (Piglet).

"You don't spell it, you feel it" (Pooh).

'A hug,' said Pooh 'is always the right size!'
