Blow! I wish I had posted this last week while the magazine was still available online. It costs £2.50 to get access to one archive using their online ePaper subscription service.

The Times (Sat magazine supplement) of 21-Nov-09 had a Christmas Food Special "50 Chefs : 50 Dishes".

Contributions from many well known names in the UK food world. From Heston Blumenthal's leftover goose sandwiches from his childhood to Mark Hix who smokes 30 to 40 sides of salmon at his home in North London every week to supply his own restaurants and sells them at Selfridges. There are some really great looking recipes, like Mulled Wine And Hot Chocolate (mmmmmmm) and a great recipe from Richard Corrigan for Perfect Roast Potatoes (a bit like the great standard method but with rosemary, thyme and garlic added half way through).

If you know somebody who takes The Times on Satudays, beg borrow or steal that magazine supplement. It really is very good and probably worth paying £2.50 online to get hold of it if all else fails.

But did you truly learn aything from the mag?  These things, it seems to me, are trotted out every year to increase sales with very little of value to be read.  We all have our own traditions which must not be altered if you want peace on Christmas Day, regardless of how Heston Bloomingheck eats his goose sandwich!

That was not meant to be a rant, sorry if I offend anyone.Embarassed

I'll try that again!

Hey, TA - that was a proper rant!

Good on you, babe Smile

Actually, yes, I did learn some worthwhile new stuff, in my opinion. Others may have known it all already, I guess.
