You can get it in powder form too, but I bet the fresh tastes a whole lot better. I wonder if it is hard to grow?

 

Waitrose sell the small tins of wasabi powder, here's a link.

Hattie, there is a section in my link above that describes the growing conditions needed, you could see if your garden provides the right things.

Thanks TA, very interesting, but I don't think I will try growing it myself, although it might have done quite well this last so-called summer as a lot of my garden was saturated in water & mud !!frown

It seems to grow best near streams but not in earth.  It would be tricky to replicate those conditions.

After my experience of eating it in Berlin, I think I will stay clear of it. I didn't know what had hit me and had no idea what to do about the pain in my nose roll_eyes
