Hello Odelle, I think Simon (SumpRat) is probably the best person to answer this!

However, there is an article all about it, here.

It would be good if you could turn off your "caps lock" - it is much easier to read in lower case ....  big_hug

then I'll be able to see what I'm writing so much easier roll_eyes Yep it's much better, thanks so much shall read article you've even put the link for me, thank you, your very kind & thoughtful.big_hug

I'll ask Simon as you've suggested, hope he won't mind.  So much has changed since I used to visit here before, must get back into the 'swing of things again' if it's possible.  I shall give it a good try, have really missed this site, perhaps I need to regain some confidence in myself first.confused It's rather how I feel at the moment.  Thank you for your help, I can always rely on you to come to my aid. cool

Gosh my reputation erroneously goes before me surprised

However I have never pulled…..

Err never MADE pulled pork

A quick Google brings up two recipes,

This one

and

That one

I think it is just a long slow gently cook of pork, preferably on the bone until the meat falls apart.

I agree with Simon's last statement  -  having eaten pulled pork at an outdoor grill at North Carolina - it is all in the long, slow, cooking.toffeeapple

I'll try that again!

No problem. It certainly does. I have done a slow roasted belly pork a few times, based on Danny's recipe. Pulled pork sounds delicious.

wave  Thank you, I've visited the above site.  I've got a few different recipes to try.....

Now, which one shall it be?

Danny's 'slow roasted belly pork' has spoiled me for anything else, I keep imagining that moist, succulent, tasty meat that melts in the mouth...delicious!  Then there is the crackling, crisped up fat that turns into such a lovely, tasty morsel to enjoy.  Even O/H that doesn't like fat, certainly likes that! roll_eyes

I have a rolled shoulder of pork in the freezer that will have to be used, so I'll have to decide on which of the selection of recipes to try.  Thank you for your help.  Much appreciated.

wave  Hi Simon,  Many thanks for the links, much appreciated.  I too like Danny's recipe for pork.  Rather spoils me for anything else, I enjoy it rather too much and never get tired of it.

I must use this rolled pork shoulder that's in the freezer, so 'pulled pork' it'll have to be.  Wonder if it will work okay in the slow cooker?  Can't see why not, long slow cooking and energy saving which has got to be good. ok

Odelle. wave

Just watched a programme on BBC2 called the incredible spice men- they show a recipe for making pulled pork with in their opinion a better flavour using an overnight soak in a spiced marinade. It is pan seared then slow roasted for 5 hours at I think 105 Centigrade (might not have got that temperature correct) and looked delicious- not sure if I would like their added flavour but it could be worth a try - as ever the series is accompanied by a BBC book in all good bookshops now.

Are we having fun yet? I am!
