Those look like chunky chips to me. It takes me about 45 minutes to bake a large whole potato in my halogen oven. I eat them a lot. I know that you can microwave them very quickly but I don't have a microwave 😉 Sometimes I bake two and halve the second one - add butter to each side and fluff up the potato inside the skin with a fork. These take about 15 minutes to heat through a couple of days later.

Hello Fiona, lovely to see you back here.

I sometimes bake a whole trayful of large potatoes in their skins.  Husband and I have one each for dinner, the rest I leave to cool, then wrap individually in foil and freeze them.  When we want jacket spuds again, I take 2 out in the morning so they've defrosted by late afternoon, they take just a couple of minutes to heat through in the microwave.  Or, as you say, a mere 15 mins in the oven if I have it on for the rest of the meal.

Hi Sooliz

Thanks for your quick response and what a great idea. A tray rather than just a couple! I will definitely do this the next time that I do baked spuds - such comforting food 🙂 I don't use microwaves but frozen would only take 20 mins in the halogen oven, unfrozen probably about 10 mins. Brilliant and thank you!

I can eat only a small baked potato but when I have one it needs to have lots of butter, salt and white pepper on it.  I have no microwave or freezer so must use what I have; my problem is that I put things in the salad drawer in my fridge and forget about them.  I suspect that if I stopped putting things in that drawer I might save some money by using the vegetables...

I'll try that again!

I am very pleased to hear that, my sweet Sue!  Good to see Fiona around isn't it?

I'll try that again!
