Pork strips in a barbecue sauce.

Also leek and potato soup.

"How do you spell 'Love'?" (Piglet).

"You don't spell it, you feel it" (Pooh).

'A hug,' said Pooh 'is always the right size!'

Got a large Savoy cabbage, we usually have it just boiled and buttered, which we like, but thought I'd do something different with it today.  Will fry sliced leeks and smoked bacon strips in oil and butter in a large pan, then add the shredded cabbage, put the lid on and sweat it down.  We'll have it with sausages and a jacket potato, there should be plenty of the cabbage left to freeze.

Cheesy chicken escalopes - chicken breast halved and bashed flat, dipped in melted butter (as I had some left over from making crumble) then coated with grated parmesan.  I'm baking rather than frying them, as the oven's on anyway for jacket potatoes and cauli cheese to go with them.

Have also made rhubarb and apple crumble.  We seldom eat puddings, other than husband having a yogurt most days, but our rhubarb is already producing prolifically, so I've just added a couple of apples to it as I'm not keen on rhubarb alone.  Leftovers will be frozen, unless husband wants to eat it for several days running as I'll only have a portion today.

It was going to be sausages with roasted veggies, however, I've just bought 2 small but thick fillet steaks reduced by two thirds in Morrisons.  So we'll have them with the veggies instead, much to husband's delight, he does love steak.....the sausages will be for tomorrow now.  I prepped enough veggies for tomorrow as well, so it will be an easy meal before he goes off to work in the afternoon.
