I know what you mean, Tina - it's Monday, traditionally washing day and leftover day! laugh

Quite windy here, so managed lots of washloads, drying on the line, and like you, I have a piece of gammon leftover, so to make it easy on myself, I shall do just chips and a fried egg to go with it.

I've stopped buying Jersey potatoes, and stick with Charlotte potatoes instead.

What ever happened to Maris Bard potatoes?   I used to like those a lot.

I'll try that again!

Don't recall those Toni, Maris Piper is more often seen now.

For jacket potatoes, I like Marfona or Estima, but it's all down to preference, isn't it!!

I love gooseberries, husband hates them though so I rarely have them  frown

Chicken stir fry today, I expect (and hope!) husband will do it, he likes doing them....probably coz it's easy, especially when it's a ready-chopped veg mix  whistle

learning to love veg…..except celery :-O

As it's such a lovely warm day, I'll do a smoked mackerel salad.  We'll have it with some of the parmesan bread I made this morning.

Like the sound of your meal, Sue.  I love smoked mackerel but can't stand the fresh fish.  No accounting for taste.  I'm not cooking tonight.  Waiting for friends to arrive and we are going out for a meal with them tonight.

Like you Iris, we love smoked mackerel too, but not the fresh mackerel.

We have a smoker (originally, I think, meant for fishermen to smoke the fish as they catch it - only a small one) and smoking our own is unbelievably good. So much better than bought smoked. ok

Tonight, OH is having his favourite - mussels with chips. First tried when we lived in Holland, and he loves it! For me, a really thick fishcake. Yum. i_am_hungry

Today I have cooked Boiled potatoes!

Boiled potatoes in a variety of shapes are one of the most common side dishes throughout the world. There are several ways of cooking potatoes with boiling water, depending on what you plan to make afterwards.

I love boiled potatoes too. Usually I cook double the amount that I need. A couple of days later I fry them very, very gently for about 40 minutes with some oil, garlic and herbs to make crispy potatoes.

Am half Irish, so Potatoes are in  my Blood, so to speak!  Any which way, I likem!  Went to make Vegetable Soup today, and because of a Tummy upset, have not been eating real Meals for a while, and was confronted by wizened, sprouty little Chaps, not fit for consumption, so think that was my first Potatoless Soup , ever.
