Welcome Anna!  How lovely that Hattie has invited you along.  You are obviously going to fit right in.

I'll try that again!

Good stuff, Anna. And well done for championing the Presto bard. We have not heard of it over here, I think.

Now we just need somrbody to take up Anna's offer and try to import one, see what the overall cost is and do a review of its capabilities. Must talk with Fiona but any excess from this month's paycheck will be swallowed up by our dog's dental treatment today (£250  eeek). Maybe in the summer or early autumn, fingers crossed. I would love to try it out.

Never knowingly underfed

Hi Anna!

Hurray, another American!

Hopefully one of these days we will able to form the American chapter of TCS society, and then we can have our own get-together and have Danny and Fiona come visit us!

I feel bad Hattie, I didn't see this thread. I would have been happy to send you a pressure cooker.

What we need to figure out is how to import/export our canning jars to the UK. I was looking at the prices of jars with 2 piece rings/lids for sale in the UK and my eyes almost popped out of my head!

If you can't be a shining example, be a terrible warning!

Hi Michelle:

We could meet this summer if you're near Portland, Oregon. We drive up every year for OSCON around the end of July.

What a great idea Michelle, yes the prices here for 'kilner' type jars like the latter ones you mention are very pricey, especially when purchasing lots and the postage is astronomical, so I think it's a superb idea if you and Anna can come up with an alternative export company of your own to service the void that is currently here in the U.K. That would be excellent!

You are innovative, both your-self and Hattie, good luck!

"How do you spell 'Love'?" (Piglet).

"You don't spell it, you feel it" (Pooh).

'A hug,' said Pooh 'is always the right size!'
