Oh we study log piles to see how much wood there is and how suitable it would be for burning.
Even getting to recognise the different woods by their smells and bark now. Silver birch always reminds me of my godmother's up in the Lake district and sycamore always reminds me of our holiday in France in a gite in April when snow was still on the ground when we arrived.
Oh they are, smells always take me back to something.
